Background Art A turbocharger that uses heat of exhaust gas to increase the temperature of air sucked into an engine has been developed in the past. This is to perform heat exchange with the exhaust gas when the air is sucked into the engine so that the suction air is heated.

Engine intake temperature control apparatus using the turbocharger of the present invention acts as follows.
The air enters the engine cylinder via the turbocharger, through the turbocharger 5 installed on the suction passage. The exhaust gas pressure is applied to the turbocharger 5.
The intake air is thus warmed by the turbocharger 5. However, when the magnetic clutch fan 2 is operated, the temperature of the suction is further warmed up. Therefore, the friction clutch fan 2 can be turned on and off to adjust the intake air temperature.
The controller 4 measures the temperature of the intake air entering the current cylinder by the signal from the temperature sensor 1, and controls the relay 3 to supply power to the friction clutch fan 2 when the target temperature is not reached. When the friction clutch fan 2 is operated, the sucked air is greatly heated by the turbocharger 5. Therefore, the temperature of intake air rises.
When the temperature of the intake air reaches the target value, the controller 4 controls the relay 3 to cut off the power supply to the friction clutch fan 2. The temperature of the intake air then falls.
The present invention controls the temperature of the intake air by repeating this action.
As described above, the engine intake temperature control apparatus using the turbocharger of the present invention can adjust the temperature of intake air to a target temperature required by the engine, thereby improving combustion performance and thereby improving fuel efficiency.
